BOOK SESSION

Princess and her throne

As fulfilling as my photography journey has been on a personal level, I have also had the opportunity to “meet” some truly remarkable people both in person and online that have made my heart swell.  This fall I had the pleasure and honor of meeting Barb Uil of Jinky Art which was an absolute dream come true. She changed my life and my business! She has also created a community of photographers that is simply amazing. Feel free to browse the links below!

Of course every post needs an image 😉 It has been a very strange winter here. Unseasonable warm then cold with little snow and lots of ice. Luckily the sun has finally returned to us! We have enjoyed playing in the studio and here is my little princess on her throne <3

Leaping towards Spring

I am sure I am not alone, but cabin fever is certainly setting in! The days are getting longer and warmer however we know there are still a few months left in winter. The best way to beat those dreary weather blues, bring a little touch of spring into the studio. Of course with gorgeous outfits and lots of smiles it was the perfect mix <3

Get those files printed!

You have finally sat down with all your digital images and you are ready to get them printed! Woo hoo! You have painstakingly made your lists for printing and who you are gifting the prints to as well as where each image is going to be proudly displayed.  Then something strange happens. They don’t print the same and some images are cropped in a strange way.  What the heck???? Don’t worry, this is due to aspect ratio. Each camera photographs an image with a specific aspect ratio, which is the ratio of width to height.  Most digital camera’s photograph with an aspect ratio of 3:2 and this ratio create’s 4×6’s, 8×12’s etc. So any print outside that side is going to experience some cropping. It is inevitable. The lab I recommend allow’s you to choose how you want your image cropped so you can minimize the cropping of the good stuff. Of course, when we do your ordering session we will go over cropping and I can show you how cropping will affect your image based on the sizes you choose for printing. Here is a handy visual guide to help! The shaded area is where the image will be cropped when printing at that size 😀

Fun New Frames!

I love fun and funky designs and I LOVE color. So when I saw these frames I knew I not only needed them for myself, but I wanted to offer them to my clients too! They come in a wide range of sizes, styles and colors.  You can also get them double stacked.  There are so many options to choose from! The frames come backed and ready to hang with all the mounting hardware. I have had a lot of fun decorating with these and I know you will too!

I am also offering a very exciting ipad frame that is designed just for an ipad. How cool is that!?  I use mine in the kitchen on an easel when I’m cooking or listening to music, it also has a great slideshow for photo’s.  I am only offering them to my clients currently.  So anyone that books in May or June I will have the opportunity to purchase the ipad frame at a special limited price 🙂

Precious Madilyn – Wasilla Newborn Photographer

Oh this baby girl was such a sweetie! She was so interested in what was going on she didn’t want to sleep! We were very patient though and eventually patience won out 🙂 Once she was asleep she was a dream to pose and we were able to get these adorable shots. This family is incredible and Madilyn is blessed with very loving parents.

Easter- Eagle River Child Photographer

This Easter was the first Easter the little munchkin really knew what was going on. She loved her Easter Basket and the choo choo’s that the Easter Bunny brought her. I learned she’s not a fan of peep’s, which leaves more for me 😀 She loves sour patch easter bunnies though.  She did her first Easter egg hunt.  At first she didn’t really understand. Then she went crazy and was running all over the place gathering them as fast as possible. She even ditched the basket because apparently it was impeding her ability to gather eggs quickly. I see a competitive Easter Egg Hunter in her near future 🙂
