Alaska is unique for many obvious reasons, some are not as obvious. One example of this is the infamous Alaskan Coffee huts. You see them on nearly every corner like you would a Circle K or Seven 11. They provide a vital resource to us Alaskans, caffeine. We need it in the summer to stay awake and play in the sun 20+ hours in a day, and we need it to get through long dark winter days. They are drive up stands that serve your coffee or tea any way you want it. My favorite is Jitters here in Eagle River, which I believe is also a local landmark.
I missed these drive up coffee shacks when we moved and we were so happy to see them again when we moved back.
