‘Impressions‘ is a creative project by an eclectic group of female photographers from around the globe. We aim to share the inspiration behind what we do through our bi-monthly posts.

Every other month, we will be sharing 8 images that tell the story of what inspired us in the previous weeks: our families, nature, weather, or maybe even work itself! We are free to explore the meaning of ‘impressions’, and it is likely to change month to month.

Homer is a gorgeous little coastal town in Anchorage that boasts a population of 5,003 and is a tourist haven in the summer. It is by far one of my favorite places in Alaska. The views, the food, the vibe, it is simply breathtakingly amazing. To kick off the end of summer and my birthday we spent a long weekend in a beach bungalow, you guessed it, on the beach. We heard sea gulls, waves crashing, and eagles were perched right off the lawn! We spent the days; beach combing, looking for sea stars and sea shells, and walking the quaint boardwalk shopping. I fell in love with the peonies sold on the boardwalk. They are my absolute favorite flower and Diamond Ridge Peonies had such a cute display! Evenings were spent by the bonfire roasting marshmallows and sitting in the hot tub with spectacular ocean and mountain views. It was a sad sad day for us all to leave but we did see the ever elusive Beluga Whales in the inlet headed into Anchorage. It was a first for me to see sooooo many up so close. The girls of course were thrilled. It was a fabulous farewell to a gorgeous summer as we get ready for, hopefully, a perfectly snowy winter <3
